Floral Doodle Procreate Stamp Collection

Floral Doodle Procreate Stamp Collection

One of the benefits of the Floral Doodle, Stamp Set is that it has a wide variety of single stem flowers, flowers without stems, and leaves that can be mixed and matched together to make your own floral bouquet. As a bonus, you can use these stamps in either a filled stamp or a line art stamp. Though I tend to lean more toward the lined art stamps having the option for both does open up a lot of options. With 60 different and unique stamps in this set the options are very open for a ton of unique creations.

Welcome back or welcome in, if this is your first time here. I recently decided that with so many friends who use Procreate and those who are just getting started, doing a weekly (Or as often as I can) Procreate brush review was going to be the best way for me to help others find the best tools to create their next masterpieces.

So here is the 2nd brush review for The Cactus Patch. I hope you enjoy it!

I don’t know about you, but for me, Watercolor painting has always been a dream of mine. I most recently went to Michael’s Craft Store and bought a whole set plus a ton of other brushes and papers that set me back quite a bit of money. Likewise, I’ve purchased quite a few Procreate Watercolor brushes and honestly never quite got the hang of them…talk about money down wasted!

But, when planning out a review for this week I knew that getting my hands on an amazing set of watercolor procreate brushes, had to be my very top priority. I have to admit, it didn’t take me long to find these and now I’m OBSESSED! I’ve had these brushes for less than 24hrs and I’ve already made 3 different pieces and have so many more planned in the future.

So let’s not keep you waiting…here are the pros and cons of these Patishop Watercolor Procreate Brush Set.

So let’s start with what is included.

You get 17 brushes that come well planned out and organized to help you find just the right brush for the job. Plus, you get an amazing collection of Watercolor Paper Canvases. and a full instruction guide to help you know what each one is for and how to use and install the brushes and papers.

One thing I have learned over the years with trying out different watercolor procreate sets is that the canvas will make or break a watercolor brush. Without the right overlays of texture and grit watercolor brushes just don’t look the same when done digitally. So the fact that this set comes with 5 different paper canvases really makes this set worth it.

These Paper Canvases come in a size 16x12 which really helps to make a difference when you want to make a larger piece. So many other packs that I’ve purchased over the years, typically just come with an 8x10 for the largest size and that just doesn’t cut it for me.

The CONS

So, not every brush set is perfect and sometimes it just takes some getting used to. I’d say these are in the latter category. I really couldn’t find much wrong with these brushes and the papers are so amazing! The one, I would say “Drawback” to these are colors. This set does come with some watercolor pallets and they were interesting but not necessarily something that I was going to buy a set for.

When using the brushes I started with some of my favorite color pallets that I’ve spent the last 2 years perfecting for my art and style. However, every time I would use one of my favorite signature colors…they were just not right. I think that the fact that there are 7 different layers of overlay to create the watercolor paper texture above the area that you are coloring has a way of changing the colors slightly…even drastically in some cases.

For instance, a soft tan would look like a dark chocolate brown and a light green would look neon green. This did slow me down a bit when drawing my cactus picture, seen above, however, it also made for some very interesting happy accidents.

Over all, I would say that this set is definitely my new favorite set and I’ll be working on so many more watercolor digital pieces now that I have this tool in my toolbelt.
